Neo-Feminism

A neo-feminism seems to be gripping the youth.
It makes following assumptions:
1. Indian society has been oppressing women for ages
2. The patriarchal society judges women on how they dress and where they roam around
3. Every Indian male is a sexual pervert unless he agrees to the woman right of roaming, drinking, wearing, sleeping the way they want.
4. And hence, all who talk of Gita and Ramayan are biggest hypocrites, male chauvinists blah blah blah.

Here is the reality:
1. Indian society, especially north Indian society, has been restricting freedom of women - keeping them in covers, in interiors of home since Muhammad Bin Qasim invaded India 1300 years ago. Since then, millions of women have been raped and enslaved because certain faith asks them to consider every disbelieving woman a sexual property. Millions of women had to burn in fire to prevent their rape. This is origin of Sati. So bloody have been last 1300 years that a typical North Indian family is scared of exposing women in family to perverts. The problem persists even today. Was witnessed in bulk during Partition in India. Now, because of Ganga-Jamuna tahzeeb, it is even more difficult to identify the pervert. Hence it has become part of culture.

It is, ironically, not men who pose restrictions. It is females themselves. The mature ones sense risks better.

In places less affected by terror, families are more liberal. In modern times, no one gives a damn to what you wear. But families are definitely scared that not everyone on street will treat them as a family member.

2. Go to Gandhinagar - so called bastion of Hindutva. Women roam around till late in night. No one cares. But yes, if you want to do this experiment in Bhubaneswar or Bolangir, people like me will definitely stop you, even if you call us chauvinists. We do not judge you on your dress or culture. But we cannot help judging your intellect if you do not realize that while 99% men respect women, 1% do not. And that 1% suffices to stay safe. In case of India, the ratio is perhaps 70:30. Do not blame the 70% if they care for your safety. Forget about men. Any sensible woman will also advise you to return home early and wear conservatively in certain areas of Malappurams and Moradabads and such places spread across India, and possibly in your neighborhood.

Unfortunately, we have no mechanism to make a sexual pervert see Durga Mata in a woman. Hence better to be safe. If you are in a safe zone, or an expert martial artist, enjoy your freedom.

3. A typical Indian male (at least Hindu male from middle class) is a family person who will not venture beyond his limits. Forget about judging, he is not even interested in things beyond his domain aka family. Barkha Dutt demanded right to sleep with anyone. Who is stopping her or snooping on her? A typical Hindu will refuse to interact with such neo-feminists. Who knows when they slap a case of sexual harassment? Trust me, a typical Gita ramayan loving Hindu is more scared of neo-feminists than they are angry on him.

Why punch the imaginary enemy? But of course, if Barkha tries this feminism experiment in Islampur, things may turn unhealthy. Do not blame my society for that.

4. A typical Gita Ramayan loving Hindu is the only reason why women are safe in this country. Else try your experiments in Iran and Saudi. And see the results.

I fail to understand why your anger is directed to a typical Hindu. If you have right to be neo-feminist and accuse me, I have right to call you stupid.

If you have real guts, show anger on that society where putting females in purdah is best way to reach heaven. Where husband has divine rights to beat his wives. Where husband can marry and divorce at will and force wife to sleep with others. Where women are not allowed to interact with strangers alone. Where punishment for adultery in death. Where every Kafir woman is a sex toy gifted by Mashallah.

Such a society does exist in India. It is thriving and very strong. Stand against it. Not those who want women to be safe from such perverts.

Yes, we are judgmental of you. Not because of your dress, or food, etc etc. We are judgmental of your intellect that cannot understand who the real villains are. Who hound on simple Hindus just because he wants you to be safe. (in fact not even you. He just advises those who are part of his family. He is scared of you because wise ancestors advised us to stay away from nuisance.)
